Terms & Conditions For Sellers
- Northumbria Numbers will market the Registration Number on behalf of the seller and will handle all the paperwork involved in the Transfer, free of charge provided the seller complies with his/her obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions.
- The Net payment, which is shown on your “selling permission form” is the full amount that will be returned to you upon completion of the transfer to the buyer’s vehicle or to a V778 retention document. (Except where you authorise Northumbria Numbers to accept a lower offer).
- Completion of transfer will be deemed to have taken place when Northumbria Numbers receives by post or fax a copy of the replacement V5 Registration Document for the donor vehicle showing the replacement mark allocated by the DVLA, Swansea. It is important that you do not dispose of the donor vehicle until this time as the “rights to the registration” number go with the vehicle.
- Northumbria Numbers will not accept any liability for any losses incurred by the seller through delay from the slow arrival of documents by the Buyer or if the Buyer fails to go ahead with the Transaction.
- The seller must supply all relevant paperwork when requested by return post and must inform Northumbria Numbers immediately if there is any delay.
- The seller agrees to deliver his/her vehicle for inspection at the local Vehicle Registration office if required. (This is to verify that the Chassis Number of the donor vehicle matches that shown on the V5 Registration Document).
- The Donor vehicle must have current MOT and Tax or have been taxed within the last 6 months to be eligible for Transfer.
- It is the responsibility of the seller to inform Northumbria Numbers in writing if the Registration Number is no longer available for sale or cannot be transferred because of the vehicle not meeting the Transfer rules (see 7) or if the vehicle is stolen/destroyed or the Donor ceases to be the owner of the vehicle. If the seller fails to advise Northumbria Numbers that the number is no longer available then he/she will be responsible to indemnify Northumbria Numbers against any action involved in Northumbria Numbers advertising the number when it is not available.
- The seller can withdraw his/her registration number for sale prior to Northumbria Numbers finding a buyer providing he/she does so in writing and delivers it to Northumbria Numbers by recorded delivery post.
- Northumbria Numbers can give no guarantee as to the time period required to find a buyer or for the DVLA to complete the transfer, as both are beyond our control.
- Northumbria Numbers believe that the appraisal of the seller’s registration number is a realistic value in the current market conditions and will report all reasonable offers to the seller.
- Your attention is directed to the notes that appear on the current editions of DVLA Forms N0 V750/V778/V778/1/V317 and DVLA booklet INF 46.
