A preview of the third DVLA personalised number plates auction of 2009.
The third auction of the year organised by SMA ( Leeds ) Ltd on behalf of DVLA is due to take place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of June 2009 at Wychwood Park, Crewe, Cheshire.
One thousand six hundred lots are on offer at this auction with several ways to bid: telephone, post, online and of course, in person. The catalogue shows a full list of plates at the auction and their reserve price. The reserve price is the minimum price the plate will be sold for, if bidding does not reach the reserve the mark will be withdrawn from the sale. Some plates that represent names will be popular choices, for example 83 DEB which has a reserve of £1,900 and JAC 3T with a reserve of £900. Some unusual number plates are to be offerred are, MU55 EUM which has a reserve price of £900 and CA57 ROL with a reserve of £900. Stars of the sale will undoubtedly be 7 T and 3 O which continue this years trend of releasing very short numbers. Earlier this year 1D achieved £285,00 on the hammer while 1 O brought a winning bid of £170,000 and 2 O was not that far behind at £115,000
